Malaysian PM visits Vietnam to boost bilateral ties

(VOVWORLD) - Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad began an official visit to Vietnam on Tuesday.

Following the welcoming ceremony in Hanoi, the two leaders held talks discussing ways to boost bilateral relations and international issues. After the talks, the two PMs witnessed a signing ceremony of a number of bilateral cooperative agreements.  

Earlier, Malaysia’s MalayMail newspaper quoted PM Mohamad as saying that Malaysia treasures its ties with Vietnam, its key economic partner. Malaysia’s exports to Vietnam totaled 8.5 billion USD in 2018. Vietnam’s exports to Malaysia totaled 4.8 billion USD.
