The street will address themes like “Celebrating the Communist Party of Vietnam”, “New achievements for Can Tho city”, and “Can Tho’s aspirations.” Nguyen Khanh Tung, Director of the city’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said the flower and art lighting street is a new tourism product to attract tourists to the city.

"We have set up medical check booths at the entrances to check visitors’ temperature," he said, "We have also installed 6 loud speakers along the street to remind people to wear a face mask. We are all in this together."

Phan Thiet city in Binh Thuan province also opened a flower street themed “Phan Thiet people celebrate the year of the Buffalo.” The street will be decorated for Tet until February 18.
