Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung gave prizes to winners of a contest on the 2013 Constitution

Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said Law Day has contributed to Vietnam’s socio-economic development and the building of a socialist state governed by law that protects human and civil rights and makes people the focus of development targets.

Prime Minister Dung said: “Reviewing 30 years of renewal, Vietnam’s great progresses has been based on institutional reforms that improve and guarantee democracy. Democracy and law are inseparable. Democracy must inform laws and principles. A state governed by law ensures that laws protect people’s freedom when people abide by the laws. We must try harder to improve the market mechanism and create a state governed by law, judicial, legislative, and administrative reform, and the implementation of the 2013 Constitution.”
