(VOVworld) – 185 literary and journalistic works about military forces and revolutionary wars, and the role of armed forces in national construction and defense, were honored at a Friday ceremony in Hanoi. These works beat out 2300 entries to win a Journalism and Literature and Arts Award for 2009-2014. Major General Nguyen Phuong Dien, Deputy Director of the Department of Communications and Training of the General Department of Politics, said:
"The winning entries are all rich in content and artistic value. They provide timely updates on burning issues of the day regarding Vietnam’s supreme sovereignty over its sea and islands."
The Journalism and Literature and Arts Awards are given out once every 5 years to honor the best literary and journalistic works about military forces and revolutionary wars and the role of armed forces in national construction and defense.
