(VOVWORLD) - Japan is considering sending COVID-19 vaccines to Vietnam, NHK public television reported Saturday.

Japan wants to send the vaccines as early as this month, without going through any international vaccine distribution mechanism, which officials say would take longer time.

At an online conference on Wednesday, Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide said that Tokyo will provide 30 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to some countries.
