Japan becomes largest market for Vietnamese workers

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam had sent more than 130,000 workers to work abroad by the end of November, according to the Vietnam Association of Manpower Supply (VAMAS).

Japan was the largest recipient of Vietnamese workers in the period, hiring more than 71,000 people.

Le Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, said: “The Vietnamese community in Japan has increased to 330,000 people, ranking third among foreign communities in the country. To date, Vietnam has sent 250,000 workers to Japan as interns. Their labor has contributed to strengthening Vietnamese-Japanese relations.”

Vietnamese workers in Japan are involved in engineering, construction, shipbuilding, nursing care, and hospital work.
