Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep.

He added that the ministry is constructing 11 irrigation systems in the Mekong Delta to regulate the production of 1 million ha of rice and fruits plus aquaculture as the region is suffering from the worst-ever drought and salt intrusion.

In the  2021-2025 period, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will cooperate with provincial authorities to invest in inter-regional irrigation systems for agricultural restructuring while dealing with drought and salt intrusion, said Mr. Hiep.
