The semi-official Tasnim news agency said on Thursday that the Iranian Assembly of Experts denounced what it calls a US attempt to undermine Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal. The Assembly dismissed the West’s repeated calls for new negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program and urged Iranian diplomats to make “appropriate reactions” to any Western measures targeting Iran’s interests.

The Iranian Assembly of Experts is a deliberative body of Islamic theologians, elected for an eight-year term and empowered to elect and remove the Supreme Leader of Iran and oversee his activities.
