Iran may—or may not—return crashed plane’s black box to Ukraine

(VOVWORLD) -The Iranian state news agency IRNA reported that Iran is trying to analyze the black box of the Ukrainian plane that crashed in Iran on January 8, but refused to say if the government will return the black box to Ukraine.

Last Saturday, the Iranian news agency Daneshjoo quoted Hassan Rezaifar, a director in charge of accident investigations at Iran's Civil Aviation Organization as saying that the black box could not be decoded in Iran and would be sent to Ukraine as Kiev has repeatedly requested. The Tasnim news agency also has reported that Iran would stop trying to decode the black box.

The Canadian government has repeatedly requested that the black box be sent to France or Ukraine.
