Intellectuals tapped for national construction, development and defense

(VOVWORLD) - In 15 years of implementing a Party Central Committee resolution Vietnam has made good progress in developing a contingent of intellectuals to accelerate national industrialization and modernization, said a Party official.

Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the Party Central Theoretical Council and Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, told a meeting in Thai Nguyen province to review the performance of the Council in the 2021-2026 tenure, that the number of intellectuals has increased rapidly, contributing to the cause of national construction, development, and defense.

The connection between the Party and intellectuals has been strengthened, and the great national unity bloc based on the alliance of workers, farmers, and intellectuals has been consolidated.

Thang recommended that in the remaining months of 2022, Council members continue to ensure the quality of consultancy reports to submit to the Politburo and the Secretariat to serve the 7th plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee on social policies and building a contingent of intellectuals to serve national industrialization and modernization.
