Addressing a conference in Hanoi on Thursday to review the industry and trade sector's  performance in 2020 and launched tasks for this year, the Prime Minister praised effective enforcement of free trade agreements that Vietnam has committed, saying it made Vietnam one of the world’s most open economies with trade relations with more than 230 economies. The Prime Minister asked the sector to further facilitate production and business activities and enhance competitiveness:

'We should initiate export promotion and import control measures with appropriate adjustment in line with the situation. We need to focus on expanding the domestic market while tackling smuggling and trade fraudulence and boosting Vietnamese branding,' said the Prime Minister.

He asked the sector to ensure a long-term and consistent policy framework while creating optimal and synchronous conditions to improve the business environment and national competitiveness.
