Indonesian, Cambodian media highlight bilateral ties with Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - Indonesia’s newspaper Kompasiana ran an article about Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Indonesia, his first foreign trip since he took office, to attended the ASEAN Leaders' Meeting in Jakarta on Saturday.

The newspaper said that Prime Minister Chinh’s visit is a historical landmark in 66 years of bilateral friendship. Vietnam pledged to enhance its strategic partnership with Indonesia and cooperate with Indonesia in regional and global issues, Kompasiana reported.

Cambodia’s Fresh News wrote that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh met on Saturday following the ASEAN Leaders' Meeting in Jakarta. They lauded the development of bilateral relations based on the principle of mutual trust. The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to maintain close cooperation at global forums for the two countries’ interests and regional peace, stability, and sustainable development, it said.
