(VOVWORLD) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday released its World Economic Outlook report for 2019, which lowers the forecast of global economic growth to 3% for 2019 and 3.4 % for 2020.

According to the report, the world economy is growing at its weakest pace since the global financial crisis in 2008-2009 as escalating trade conflicts reduce the confidence of investors and business. The IMF warns that the global economy is going through a period of slowing and uncertainty. IMF chief economist Gita Gopinath says the global economic outlook right now is very uncertain.
