IMF chief Christine Lagarde said the immediate priority is to resolve the current trade tensions. She warned that the exchange of tariffs between the US and China will put the brakes on growth in both countries and cut a few points off global growth. Lagarde urged a removal of recent trade barriers and an avoidance of further barriers in whatever form.

The IMF chief said these trade conflicts combined with Brexit  jeopardize global economic recovery.
