The participants were representatives of travel companies, students, artists wearing the traditional costumes of several countries, Vietnamese ethnic minority groups, and the historic Hue royal costume.

Nguyen Van Phuc, Director of the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien-Hue province, said, “The carnival parade aims to introduce tourists and local communities to the activities of the tourism industry this year including street parades in combination with programs such as the opening of Hai Ba Trung pedestrian street.”

The new pedestrian street will create a commercial area where the local community and visitors can interact, he added.

As part of the Hue Festival 2023, a hot balloon festival and a Street Food Week will be held next month and Hue Lotus Cuisine Day in May.
