“Ho Chi Minh City is striving to realize the dual goal by breaking it down into smaller goals of growth, job generation, medical capacity, social welfare, and flexibility at the grassroots level, which is crucial to the implementation of policies and resolutions. A detailed plan of action is needed for each ward and district. They should be united toward a common goal," President Phuc said.

"Ho Chi Minh City is trying to reduce the number of critically ill cases and COVID-19 deaths, a prerequisite for keeping society open and productive,” he added.

President Phuc suggested that it’s time for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s primary economic center, to resume investing, consuming, and exporting.

Quickly restarting the supply chain and getting labor back to work is vital, he said, adding that Ho Chi Minh City must also ensure the supply of goods for the coming Lunar New Year festival, work with businesses to remove their hurdles, and prepare to reopen schools.
