In an official letter sent recently to localities, the Department said the elderly (60 years of age or older) with health problems and people with chronic illnesses, who are scheduled for a follow-up visit to doctors, can be provided with medical examination and medicine prescription at home.
The Department of Health requires that depending on the patient's progression, the visiting doctor can prescribe and perform some simple techniques at home such as: physiotherapy (exercises with simple tools or instructing patients to practice by themselves), change bandages, cut threads, measure electrocardiogram, and take blood sample for testing in accordance with the professional capacity of a medical establishment.
