The festival aims to preserve and promote Vietnam’s folk music to a wider audience in Vietnam and around the world. It is expected to become a trademark of Ho Chi Minh City’s cultural scene.
Le Thanh Liem, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said: “Music links Vietnam with international friends. A Strategy for the Development of Cultural Industries in Vietnam to 2020 is being implemented. The HOZO - Ho Chi Minh City International Music Festival is introducing Vietnam’s cultural identities via a mix of folk and modern music.”
A repertoire spanning world music, jazz, pop, and traditional music is staged by artists and bands from France, Belgium, Russia, Japan, and others.
