(VOVworld) – Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong met Tuesday with a senior French official who is in Vietnam to explore cooperation between France and Ho Chi Minh city.

Though HCM City has hosted a number of French investments, its potential has not been fully tapped by the French firms, Hong told Matthias Fekl, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. Hong suggested organizing workshops with French companies to provide them with more information about their opportunities here. She said HCM city appreciates France’s enormous assistance in agriculture, education, and healthcare over the past years, and said the city hopes for further support in preparing fruits for export.

Mr. Fekl said more French investment and effectively implemented projects will contribute to the growth of HCM city and Vietnam.
