The display is divided into 2 parts: “The heart’s fire”, depicting stories of young Vietnamese who sacrificed their lives for today national independence, and “Desire for a better life” which reflects young Vietnamese people’s determination to overcome any challenges to contribute to national construction and defense.

Mai Xuan Bich, a former soldier of Bien Hoa Artillery Corps, said exhibited items remind him of the time when he served in the army as Uncle Ho’s soldier.

“Responding to President Ho Chi Minh's call for all Youth Union members to join the army to save the country, I volunteered to go on duty and fought at the southeastern and southwestern battlefields. I knew many youngsters of my age who carried stones inside their clothes to increase their weight, so they would be eligible to join the army,” said Bich.

"I’m very moved standing here today. I feel grateful to all soldiers who sacrificed their lives and youth to earn our independence. Young students like us should do our best to contribute to national development and make our predecessors proud of us," said Tran Hong Phuoc, a student of Hanoi.

The display will run until April 30th to mark the 90th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
