(VOVWORLD) - The Hanoi-HCMC route was the world’s second busiest in February, according to British aviation analysis company OAG.

The flight route connecting Vietnam’s two largest cities served 1.09 million passengers this month, higher than 1.02 million passengers in January.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam reports that during the Lunar New Year month (from January 19th to February 18th) Vietnamese airlines operated nearly 21,000 flights, an increase of 7.4% against the previous month.
The on-time performance of Vietnamese carriers was 90%, the highest rate in the world, while the average on-time performance of American and European carriers was 80%, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
