Hanoi goes ahead with administrative reform, business climate improvement

(VOVWORLD) -In 2023, Hanoi will continue its administrative reforms, drastically improve the business environment, accelerate economic restructuring, develop industries based on technological innovation, and participate more deeply in global value chains.

In an interview with a Voice of Vietnam reporter, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung said that last year the capital city fulfilled all 22 development targets, of which five exceeded the plan; GRDP increased 8.9%; economic size reached about 50 billion USD; and the city attracted nearly 1.7 billion USD in foreign direct investment, an increase of more than 10% compared to 2021.

“The city strives to continue to complete and exceed all 22 socio-economic development targets in 2023, in which, the city's GRDP will increase by 7% or more; keep the consumer price index at below 4.5%. Hanoi must ensure major balances and create new impetus for growth in the immediate and long term,” Dung said.

“We will finalize and submit to the Prime Minister the Hanoi Capital Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 and the overall adjustment of the Capital Construction Master Plan to 2030, with a vision to 2050. We will plan two cities: the North City including Dong Anh, Me Linh, and Soc Son and the West City including the Hoa Lac - Xuan Mai area, which is a city of sci-tech and education,” he added.
