Half of communes to become new-style rural areas in 2019

(VOVWORLD) - More than half of all communes in Vietnam will meet the criteria for new-style rural areas by the end of this year, according to Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue.

Mr. Hue chaired a meeting in Hanoi on Monday on 10 years of the National Target Program on New-Style Rural Area Building. He said that incentives and budgets should be prepared as soon as possible for the next stage planned for 2021 to 2025. The new-style rural area criteria relate to infrastructure, irrigation, electricity, environment, income, education, healthcare, social security and culture.
