“Our discussion aims to find a solution to fight the epidemic while maintaining economic development,” said PM Chinh.
He noted that since the beginning of the 4th wave of COVID-19 in Vietnam, the Government has met representatives of domestic and foreign businesses many times to help them iron out difficulties.
“In this difficult time, we must unite, promote democracy, pool our wisdom, and listen and respect each other’s opinions to overcome the current challenges,” he said.
The Government has offered many incentives including support for employees and employers affected by COVID-19, and tax and land rent payment deferral, PM Chinh noted.
Representatives of the business circle thanked the government and the PM for their support, and welcomed the shifting from the “zero COVID” approach to flexibly and safely adapting to and effective controlling the pandemic. They were resolved to join the government and people in defeating the pandemic and restoring production and business activities.
They proposed the government give them more incentives in fighting COVID-19 and developing production, continue prioritising vaccination of workers, re-open businesses whose employees are fully vaccinated, and allow domestic and foreign tourism conditionally.
The PM thanked the business community for joining the Party, State and people of Vietnam in the pandemic fight and their efforts to maintain socio-economic development.
He urged localities, ministries, and agencies to promptly design reopening plans, taking into account businesses’ recommendations.
Special emphasis should be placed on promoting administrative reform, preventing red tape, and handling businesses’ opinions, said PM Chinh.
