Government issues resolution on economic development in border areas

(VOVWORLD) - The Government has promulgated a resolution on economic development in land border areas with a focus on combining sustainable socio-economic development and job generation, increasing income, improving social welfare, reducing poverty, and narrowing the development gap.

The resolution points out that Vietnam has more than 5,000 kilometers of land border, with many operational border gates. Advancing socio-economic development and social security in these areas is important in order to narrow the development gap and strengthen trade and investment ties with neighboring countries.

This will enhance economic and trade cooperation between localities of Vietnam and neighboring countries – China, Laos, and Cambodia – as well as other countries in the region, according to the resolution.
