During the same period, Vietnam further saved approximately 1 million lives from tuberculosis; 100% of the population had access to TB prevention and control measures; and 42 out of the 63 Vietnamese provinces eliminated malaria.

Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan told the 49th Conference of the Global Fund’s Executive Council in Vietnam on Wednesday that Vietnam has set a target to basically end AIDS and TB, and eliminate malaria in its entirety in 2030.

The Minister called on the Global Fund, governments, international organizations, and individuals to continue support for Vietnam to promote its achievements, mobilize resources, and share experiences to help Vietnam achieve its goals.

Peter Sands, Director of the Global Fund, pledged to work with Vietnam to defeat HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria.

The delegates burnt incense to pray for the people who have died from AIDS, TB, and malaria.
