(VOVWORLD) - Dien Bien province on Thursday held a ceremony to announce the recognition of “Ga Ma Thu” – a traditional worship ritual of Ha Nhi ethnic minorities in Muong Nhe district, as a national intangible cultural heritage.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism on January 29th announced 17 new national intangible cultural heritages including the Ga Ma Thu worship ritual. The recognition honors the cultural and religious values of the Ha Nhi and encourages community activities, while educating young people about history and cultural traditions. Dien Bien province now has 8 national intangible cultural heritages.
