This is considered a failure for Germany, the host country, which has been trying to maintain previous G20 agreements.

At a press conference after the first meeting with G20 leaders, US Secretary of Treasury Steven Mnuchin affirmed that the US is committed to free trade but will reconsider some agreements, including the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
