Former prisoners meet to mark 1968 General Offensive and Uprising

(VOVWORLD) - The Ho Chi Minh City Liaison Committee of Political Prisoners organized a meeting on Saturday to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1968 General Offensive and Uprising.

The delegates highlighted staunch spirit and great sacrifices of Vietnamese soldiers and civilians during the campaign. They emphasized the significance of the campaign which pressured the US to stop bombing the north and participate in the Paris Peace Negotiation. Ms Doan Le Phong is Deputy Head of the Committee: “We always tell the younger generation about feats of arms of their predecessors to encourage them to fulfill their tasks and contribute to national construction and defense.”
