Other key tasks include boosting multilateral diplomacy, raising Vietnam's role in building and shaping multilateral mechanisms, and proactively, flexibly, and effectively responding to new initiatives on regional connectivity.

The diplomatic sector will also strengthen coordination with national defense and security forces, closely watch developments in the East Sea (known internationally as the South China Sea) and land border areas, and proactively promote cooperation with relevant countries while helping to fight and preventing violations of Vietnam’s sovereignty, territories, jurisdiction, and legitimate rights.

“Vietnam’s diplomacy has demonstrated its identity in protecting and promoting our national interest. Amid complicated developments around the world, we must stick steadfastly to our principles while being flexible in our policies,” said Minister Son.
