The suspension will continue at least until August 1 and does not apply to flights carrying cargo only.

The CAAV has asked airlines and airports to help transport people from Ho Chi Minh City and other southern localities, which are seeing an escalation of the COVID-19 crisis, to their hometown.

Plans for arranging charter flights for the returnees should be agreed to by the receiving localities.

Before boarding a flight, every passenger must present a negative result for a PCR coronavirus test conducted no more than three days before departure, or undergo rapid testing at the airport.
