Finland has no plans to deploy nuclear weapons after joining NATO

(VOVWORLD) - Finland's Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto on Sunday announced that Finland does not intend to bring nuclear weapons into its territory even after joining NATO.

He emphasized that Finland does not provide any preconditions when applying for NATO membership because Helsinki does not want to narrow its own activities.

On December 5, the Finnish Government submitted to parliament a bill on NATO membership. Finland will join NATO after all member states ratify the procedures.
