External information service telling story of transforming Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) -External information service is integral to Vietnam’s diplomacy and has made significant contributions to forging Vietnam and the international community closer, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang told reporters on the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press (June 21).

It is not only a trailblazer in advocating justice but also affirming Vietnam’s unswerving stance on independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as its consistent, responsible foreign policy, she added.  

External information journalists have demonstrated their willpower, wisdom, and growth through their effective communications on Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship for 2020, the North Korea–US Summit in Hanoi, COP26, and throughout Vietnam’s terms as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). These are testaments to journalists’ capabilities in shaping a favorable environment for public opinion and elevating Vietnam’s profile and reputation globally, Hang said.

Today, the role of external information service is not limited to just disseminating information, but also making contributions to positioning Vietnam as a peaceful nation undergoing renewal and comprehensive international integration, the Deputy FM said, adding it will continue to pioneer on the information front, innovate, and master modern technology to better deliver and tell the story of Vietnam.
