Exports of textiles, garment, leather footwear see positive signs

(VOVWORLD) - In May and the first 5 months of this year, the textile, garment and footwear industry saw signs of improvement against the same period last year as some of Vietnam's main export markets recovered and took advantage of new-generation Free Trade Agreements.

In 5 months, the textile production index increased by 8.1% over the same period; the apparel production industry increased by 9.1%; leather and related products industry increased by 12%. Production index of leather and related products in the past 5 months increased 12% over the same period.

Over the past 5 months, the export turnover of textiles and garments reached more than 12 billion USD, up 15% over the same period.
