(VOVworld) - The joint United Nations program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) has chosen “Bridging the gap” the main slogan for this year World AIDS Day, December 1st.
19 million of the 35 million people living with HIV today do not know that they are exposed to HIV

The slogan indicates the necessity to apply effective treatments worldwide, to put an end to the deadly epidemic by 2030. According to UNAIDS, 19 million of the 35 million people living with HIV today do not know their HIV-positive status, adding that bridging the gap of access to HIV testing could help those people receive necessary antiretroviral therapy.
