Vietnam intends to ratify the two agreements during the ongoing National Assembly session. During the regular press briefing on Thursday, the deputy spokesman commented on civil activities by China on Phu Lam island of Vietnam’s Hoang Sa archipelago: "Vietnam has repeatedly confirmed its sufficient historic evidence and legal grounds indisputably reasserting Vietnam’s sovereignty over Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagos in line with international law. All activities on those archipelagos without Vietnam’s permission is a violation of Vietnam’s sovereignty and international law.”

The deputy spokesman reflected on Vietnam’s view regarding Chinese approval of a resolution on Hong Kong security bill. Viet said: “We closely follow the situation in Hong Kong. We respect and support the "one China-two systems" policy. Hong Kong related issues are China’s internal affairs. Vietnam wishes the situation in Hong Kong to be stable and prosperous.”
