The ministers expressed "extreme concern" over developments in Thailand, suggesting the military should restore "as a matter of urgency the legitimate democratic process and the constitution through credible and inclusive elections". The EU urged the Thai junta to respect human rights and freedom and warned that the block will take a look back at its relations with Thailand and consider stricter sanctions depending on future developments. Only a speedy return to democracy and credible, inclusive elections can restore the EU-Thailand relationship.
