Dong Thap exports first batch of mangoes to Europe in 2022

(VOVWORLD) - The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap has exported the first batch of mangoes of this year to the European market, Huynh Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said on Saturday.

Mr. Tuan said after the first shipment of Vietnamese mangoes to the US in 2019, Dong Thap has increased trade promotion and called for investment in developing all types of fruits, especially mangoes, ensuring that they meet the standard of demanding markets including Europe.

Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet, Director of Vietnam Golden Gate Company, one of the two exporters of mangoes to Europe, said that 8 tons of mangoes are expected to arrive in Europe by March. 

Dong Thap has established eight cooperatives, 37 cooperative groups, and 23 clubs of mango growers and engaged in the production and consumption for more than 1,000 hectares.
