(VOVWORLD) - Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh on Wednesday handed over a decision to appoint Mr. Do Tien Sy, member of the Party Central Committee and National Assembly deputy, as President of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV).

Addressing a ceremony at the National Broadcasting Center in Hanoi on Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Minh wished the new leader of VOV and his team to constantly strive to be worthy of the name “Voice of Vietnam.”

The Deputy Prime Minister described Mr. Sy as a well-trained cadre, who has served two terms as a member of the Party Central Committee and a deputy of the National Assembly and experienced multiple positions, including Secretary of the Party Committee of Hung Yen province.

Deputy Prime Minister Minh said he believes that the new President of VOV will work with his team to promote the 76-year tradition of the broadcaster, turn VOV into a modern, multi-media agency, and maintain its position as one of the leading press agencies of Vietnam, that is reaching regional and global level.
