During a conference to review the performance of the National Committee for Children this year and plan for next year, Mr. Dam, who is also Chairman of the Committee, also asked for measures to resolve issues relating to preschool education in processing zones and nutrition for children in remote areas.

According to the 2022 report released at the conference, Committee activities protected children's rights and resolved issues of public concern related to children. Ministries, branches, and organizations also implemented an inter-sectoral plan on child drowning prevention.

Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha, said: "The 2023 plan will focus on strengthening inter-sectoral coordination in the formulation and enforcement of laws and policies related to children’s work and children's rights. Priority will be given to care for children during natural disasters and epidemics, ethnic minorities and disadvantaged children, and preschool education."
