The report delivered at the Committee’s meeting on Friday said 11 provinces and cities have not recorded new cases for more than 10 days. Hai Phong city has not detected more positive cases for 4 days, while Hai Duong, Vietnam’s new COVID-19 epicenter,  has still recorded new cases.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam urged the health sector and localities not to rule out the possibility that the pathogens exist in the community. He requested the Ministry of Health to well organize the COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

“Vaccine is still the most radical solution. Vietnam has actively planned to buy and receive vaccines from international organizations. But the first dose of vaccine cannot immediately produce antibodies, we have to wait for the 2nd dose in dozens of days. Vaccines are not available for all, so it is necessary to perform well 5K, namely wearing face masks, using disinfectant, keeping a distance, no crowd gathering, and filling in health declarations. It is also necessary to boost domestic production of vaccines in a quick and steadfast manner,” said Mr. Dam.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam extended his best wishes to medical staff nationwide on the 66th anniversary of the Vietnam Physicians' Day.
