(VOVworld) – Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh leads a Vietnamese delegation to the Shangri-La Dialogue which opens in Singapore today. He will deliver a speech at the plenary session and hold bilateral and multilateral meetings with other delegations on regional pressing issues including the East Sea dispute.

The Shangri-la Dialogue will discuss how to face complicated security challenges in Asia and control military competition in Asia, national defense policy for different periods, and challenges in resolving disputes.  

Head of the International Relations of Vietnam’s Ministry of Defense Vu Tien Trong said: “Vietnam will appropriately evaluate the situation and threats to regional security and stability and propose measures matching international law so relevant parties can resolve disputes peacefully for mutual benefits and maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea.”

Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha will deliver a keynote at the opening session on the 15th Shangri-La Dialogue today.
