(VOVworld) – The central city of Da Nang is preparing for its 6^th International Fireworks Competition, which will take place at the end of this month. The competition, dubbed “Love of the Han River”, will see teams from Russia, Italy, Japan, the US, and Vietnam take part.
People nationwide will be given five days off to mark Reunification Day, April 30^th, and International Labor Day on May 1^st. Therefore, as well as the fireworks competition, the city will hold a number of activities such as street music performances, culinary exchanges, and sea sports. Trần Quang Thanh is Deputy Director of Da Nang’s Culture, Sports, and Tourism Department: “Relevatn agencies should ensure their ability to carry out their tasks in an economical way to ensure the competition’s appropriate scale and quality. The city’s artists will take part in all art-performances”.
Following on from this year’s festival, the city’s People’s Committee will hold a similar event every two years to secure the reputation of their fireworks performance in the world, and help to develop the city’s tourism.
