COVID-19 checkpoints have been established at Dong Dang international railway station and Huu Nghi, Chi Ma, Tan Thanh, and Coc Nam border gates to check the body temperature of drivers and passengers, who must present their travel schedules for contact tracing, if necessary.

Nguyen Huu Bo, Head of Huu Nghi Border Gate Customs Office, said about 350 vehicles pass through the border gate every day. The number is expected to increase in the coming days.

“We have strengthened the capacity of the specialized driver team. All people passing the border gate have to check their temperature and fill in the health declaration. This is the second year of the pandemic, and we have been prepared. We have regular exchanges with the Chinese side on pandemic prevention and convenient customs clearance,” Bo said.
