Mr. Bermúdez said the heroic Vietnamese people are always among the most sincere friends of Cuba in complicated times. He said he is grateful for Vietnam’s consistent support for Cuba’s struggle to end the unjust economic, commercial, and financial embargo imposed by the US.

The Cuban leader said the ongoing pandemic cannot hinder political dialogues at the highest level between Cuba and Vietnam and high-ranking leaders will continue to pay attention to the exemplary relationship of Vietnam and Cuba.

He said the two countries will step up cooperation in food security, information, and the fight against hostile propaganda campaigns. They will also join hands in the conservation of historical memories and strengthen collaboration in spheres of mutual concern. Cuba, he said, will continue to create a favorable business climate for Vietnamese firms in Cuba.

He repeated Fidel Castro’s words “For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to shed its blood”, and added that Cuba stands ready right now to supply COVID-19 vaccines and transfer vaccine production technology to Vietnam.
