The ceremony, chaired by First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Diaz Canel Bermudez,  was held at the highest protocol for heads of states.

The two leaders then discussed Vietnam-Cuba joint achievements and proposed measures to strengthen cooperation in all fields to bring the comprehensive relationship between the two countries to a new level.

Prior to the meeting, Mr. Lam laid a wreath at the Monument of Cuban national hero Jose Marti in Havana.
