Due to high waves and strong currents, two boats have been left stranded while another has drifted away. 2 crew members are still missing and 8 other are in need of help on board the Vietship, which is stranded about 400m away from Cua Viet Port. Although heavy rains have abated in Quang Tri province and water levels in rivers have receded slowly, more than 68,000 local people are still affected in flood prone areas. 5,000 households with more than 16,600 people have been evacuated to safe areas.
