It is predicted, however, that scattered infections will be detected in the community, Mr. Long said at a meeting of the National Steering Commitee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Hanoi on Thursday. He asked Da Nang and Quang Nam to focus on tracing and detecting new cases.

A Health Ministry representative said four domestic producers are trying to develop a COVID-19 vaccine. The Ministry has been in close contact with other countries such as Russia, the UK, and the US which are also developing vaccines.

Of all 1,007 COVID-19 cases recorded to date in Vietnam, 542 have recovered and 25 have died.
