Ho Chi Minh city reported the highest number of infections (1,276), followed by its neighbouring provinces of Dong Nai (923) and Binh Duong (619). Hanoi detected 268 new cases.

The national tally now stands at 984,805 and the death toll hits 22,686. More than 842,000 patients have recovered.

Over 92 million doses of vaccines have been administered across the country to date.
