COVID-19 in Vietnam: 10,040 new cases reported on Sunday

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam recorded additional 10,040 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, the Ministry of Health announced.
Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam’s current largest pandemic hotspot, reported the highest number of infections (5,496). It was followed by neighbouring Binh Duong province (2,332), Dong Nai (953) and An Giang (287). Hanoi detected 20 new cases.
Vietnam has so far confirmed 687,063 cases, ranking 47th out of 222 countries and territories worldwide in terms of infections per one million people.
A total of 9,137 patients were given the all-clear from coronavirus the same day, raising the total number of recoveries to 457,505.
17,090 COVID-19 patients have died.
Vietnam has administered more than 34 million doses of vaccines nationwide.
